Health, Safety & Environment

Safety Is
Not a Priority.
It's a Condition.

At Coastal Vessel Drilling, HSE is not a department or a quarterly report. It is the non-negotiable foundation of every operation we run — embedded in every person, every procedure, every shift.

"Nobody gets hurt. That is not an aspiration. It is the only acceptable outcome of every shift, every lift, and every well we drill."

Our Approach

Safety Pillars

Stop Work Authority

Every person on the rig — from the driller to the roustabout — has the unconditional right and responsibility to stop any operation they believe is unsafe. No commercial pressure overrides that authority. None.

Real-Time Risk Assessment

Hazard identification is continuous, not periodic. Job Safety Analyses are completed before every task and updated when conditions change. Risk is assessed in real time — not on a quarterly reporting schedule.

Incident Transparency

Near-misses and hazard observations are reported immediately and without fear of reprisal. We investigate root causes — not to assign blame, but to prevent recurrence. Findings are shared across the fleet.

Well Control Culture

Well control is rehearsed, not just certified. Full BOP drills are conducted monthly. Kick detection procedures are practised on every tour change. Complacency is the primary enemy of well control.

Environmental Protection

ISO 14001-certified environmental management across all operations. Spill prevention plans in place before every campaign. Zero tolerance for unplanned discharges. We operate in coastal waters as responsible stewards.

Continuous Training

OPITO-accredited training, regular competency assessments, and mandatory emergency response drills for all crew. Training records are maintained centrally and reviewed at every crew change and contract renewal.

Programmes & Certifications

What We Operate Under

IWCF Well Control Certification

All drilling supervisors certified to IWCF standard — surface and subsurface well control. Renewed on schedule without exception.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management

Certified environmental management system covering all operational activities, waste streams, and discharge monitoring.

OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001

Occupational health and safety management system, certified and audited annually by an independent third-party body.

OPITO-Accredited Training

All offshore personnel trained under OPITO standards — BOSIET, FOET, HUET, and emergency response refreshers on schedule.

ABS / DNV GL Classification

Fleet maintained to ABS and DNV GL class standards with regular in-water surveys, special periodicals, and topside inspections.

MARPOL Compliance

All vessels operated under MARPOL Annex I, II, and V protocols with designated pollution response plans and discharge records.

Monthly BOP Drills & Function Tests

Full BOP function testing and blind shear ram tests monthly as a minimum. Results documented and available to operators on request.

24/7 Emergency Response Plan

Fully maintained emergency response and crisis management plans, bridged with operator ERPs at the start of every campaign.
